BOTANICAL INGREDIENTS
Safflower
Antioxidant. A botanical alternative to synthetic emollients. Hydrating properties lend skin a healthy glow, promote elasticity and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Contains beneficial fatty acids, primarily linolenic acid – can help repair skin’s barrier and that are of particular value to those with dry skin. Contains lubricant properties – prompt the skin to retain water and moisture. Contains omega-6 – packed with essential vitamins. Prevents dryness and roughness and removes dirt and oil. A key treatment for issues including eczema, psoriasis and acne.
Ginseng
Reduces wrinkles. Has an ability to boost skin-firming collagen (collagen synthesis is increased in the dermis and enzymes that break down collagen are less active). Gives the skin a brighter and more youthful appearance. Has an ability to encourage skin regeneration. Can speed up the healing of burns. Boosts natural repair and infection-fighting functions. Anti-inflammatory effect.
Tea Polyphenols
Belong to a group of antioxidant compounds known as catechins. Anti-ageing and anti-inflammatory properties. Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), green tea’s active component, can prevent collagen breakdown and reduce UV damage to skin.
Coneflower
Soothes the skin by bringing down the swelling of the skin tissues. Diminishes Wrinkles and accelerates the healing process by promoting cellular regeneration. It reduces the inflammation, blackheads and redness.
Tea Tree
Anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties that make it effective for cleansing and skin inflammation.
Aloe Vera
Anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and healing moisturiser. Is particularly helpful to use on sensitive or dry skin. A rich source of many vitamins including A, B, and C. It is used to brighten skin tone and minimize minor pigmentation issues.
Witch Hazel
Astringent, anti-ageing, moisturizing properties. Significant antibacterial and antiseptic qualities. A fantastic natural remedy for skin conditions like acne, psoriasis and eczema. Catechol tannins help remove excess oil from the skin (effective at treating blackheads and other blemishes caused by an accumulation of dried sebum in the pores). Extremely effective at tightening skin to reduce sagging. A potent anti-inflammatory which reduces irritation. Good at refreshing and rejuvenating regular, healthy skin.
Centella
Has antibacterial, anti-psoriatic, wound-healing, anti-viral and anti-inflammatory properties. Used as a treatment for skin conditions such as psoriasis, dermatitis, and minor burns. Able to heal wounds and burns because of its ability to increase the blood supply to the affected area, elevate the level of antioxidants in the wound, and encourage the production of fibroblasts, the cells that synthesize collagen. Its collagen-boosting and anti-inflammatory properties mean that centella asiatica can diminish the appearance of keloid scars. Has a tightening effect on the skin for a lifted and toned complexion.
SKIN SCIENCE INGREDIENTS
Glycosaminoglycans
Helps with the maintenance and support of collagen and elastin. Chondroitin sulfate and hyaluronic acid are part of this ingredient group, all of which function as skin-repairing ingredients. Maintains and supports collagen and elastin and keeps protein fibers in balance and proportion. It also promotes the ability of the collagen and elastin fibers to retain moisture.
Matrixyl, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7
Penetrates the skin easily and is structurally similar to the precursor of collagen type I. Can communicate with a cell and program it to do specific things, including repair work. Considered to be as effective against wrinkles as retinol.
Arginine
An antioxidant that helps build collagen production.
Retinyl Palmitate
Effective as an antioxidant and skin-cell regulator. Enhances the appearance of dry or damaged skin by reducing flaking and restoring suppleness. Has an ability to penetrate the outer layers of the skin and work to repair the lower layers where collagen and elastin reside.
Sodium Hyaluronate
A moisture retaining ingredient and humectant. A water-binding ingredient that has the ability to fill the spaces between the connective fibers for strength and elasticity.
Vitamin E
Antioxidant. Protects from oxidant damages and has moisturising, anti-inflammatory, healing, anti-ageing effects. Reduces UV-induced erythema, edema, sunburn cell formation, and lipid per-oxidation.
