Honouring Our Founder: The Man Fong Mei Award at King’s College London
We are proud to share that King’s College London has created the Man Fong Mei Award in memory of our founder, Professor Man Fong (Benny) Mei (1946–2014), through the King’s Centre for Integrative Chinese Medicine (CICM).
This award carries his vision forward — and you can be part of it.
A Life of Innovation
Professor Mei, a Physics graduate of King’s College London, devoted his life to building bridges between Chinese medicine and the modern world.
He was not only the founder of AcuMedic Clinic (1972) and AcuMedic Professional, but also the co-founder of the Chinese Medical Institute and Register (CMIR) in partnership with King’s (1993). Through these institutions, he trained generations of practitioners, raised clinical standards, and gave Chinese medicine a respected home in the UK.
About the Award
The Man Fong Mei Award will support the next generation of Chinese medicine students and researchers at King’s College London. It is designed to carry forward Professor Mei’s pioneering spirit by funding projects that:
✅ Bridge disciplines — combining Chinese medicine with science and technology.
✅ Improve safety and care — developing better, more effective treatments.
✅ Honour tradition while innovating — keeping wisdom alive while exploring new frontiers.
This award is about building the future of Chinese medicine — one that Prof. Mei dreamed of and worked tirelessly to create.
