Advanced Cupping Training for Doctors and Therapists
Chinese cupping is a system of medicine that can fortify health (by strengthening the immune system), alleviate illnesses (by tackling the physical and chemical imbalances behind depression), and treat diseases (by reducing the inflammation behind arthritis).
In this advanced practical workshop we will teach you how to combine Chinese cupping with your existing skills and apply it to its full potential. You will learn how to really understand, explain and use cupping efficiently to help your patients without leaving any bruises.
Course Structure
A full day of learning and practising advanced Chinese cupping therapy.
MORNING:
1. How to translate Chinese cupping mechanisms into the language of Western physiology
Your prospective patients are judging your expertise on how clearly you can explain your treatment. Western doctors are judging your expertise on your ability to explain it in Western medical terms. We will give you the research-based terminology to convince both.
2. How to choose the right cupping technique
Draw blood or keep the cupping dry? Will you need to keep the cupping static or moving? When and how should you combine cupping with dry needling? You will learn about all the various cupping strategies for different medical cases. This will also be explained in terms of Meridian theory and Five Element Acupuncture.
3. See what cupping can do
Learn how to pick the right cupping technique for:
- Dermatological disorders
- Musculoskeltal pains and injuries
- Lung weakness
- Digestive complaints
- Cardiovascular problems
- Emotional imbalances
- Autoimmune conditions
- Any health problems caused by the invasion of pathogens such as Wind, Cold, Damp and other toxins
- Physical recovery for optimal athletic performance
4. How to manage your cupping patient
It is not enough to pick a cupping technique according to an indication alone. You must tailor your treatment to the individual needs of your patient.
We will teach you how to increase your chances of success by modifying your cupping choices (such as duration of your session) according to your patient's type of skin, constitution, age, medical history and present health needs.
About those circular marks. Some of your patients need cupping but can't accept the sight of temporary bruises that can ensue. We will show you how to apply cupping without causing the bruises but only slight marks that will vanish after less than 24 hours.
5. Preparation and Health & Safety
Learn about the mistakes to avoid in your cupping equipment set-up and how to protect the health and safety of your patients.
